The Most Beautiful White Sand Beach in Davao Oriental

Thanks for visiting this blog, i have new webpage, pls click on this link.

Mati Davao Oriental

Do you like swimming in a white sand beach? Are you aware that apart from Boracay there is a beautiful white sand beach in Davao Oriental? Have you heard of Mati City? Or their beach Dahican? if not, then let me take you there.

A local surfing in the waves of Dahican beach.
During my vacation in the Philippines I had the chance to visit and explore Mati City, the place where I was born. I was very excited to see this place knowing that I was born here, but never had the chance to see it personally since my parents left and transferred to Cagayan de Oro when I was a child.

Mati City is the capital city of Davao Oriental, the city is evolving and growing rapidly for the past couple of years. My visit there was not really intentional, perhaps it was done out of my impulsive decision. I have never been in this place in my entire life although I was born here. Until recently, I have seen videos on national TV programs featuring Mati City.
I love Mati, the city's park is along the shoreline.

Travelling to Mati from Cagayan de Oro

Mati City is situated along the coastal region of Davao Oriental and the city is famous with their white sand beach. How to reach Mati City from Cagayan de Oro City? It was indeed a very long trip since I came from Cagayan de Oro. To start, you  need to get on a bus from CDO to Davao City which will take you around 7 to 9 hours drive.

And from Davao City you need to get on another bus going to Mati City, the trip is around 4 hours more or less. Arriving Mati City, we have no idea what to do since we are not familiar of the place. There is no taxi in the city, but they have "rela" an improvised motor vehicle which will take you around the city. Our first destination is there popular "plaza or park," we went off there and took a couple of pictures.

The beach is perfect for surfing as well.
The park is just along the shore where you can see a couple of islands facing the city. It was midday when we got there and there were very few people around the park. After exploring the park we decided to find a place to stay and since we are clueless of the perfect place to chill. We decided to go directly to Dahican beach, which is very popular among tourists.

Dahican Beach A Popular Tourist Destination

Dahican beach is about 10 to 15 minutes drive by "Rela" since there are no taxis in the city, before going to Dahican beach you need to agree and bargain first with the driver. Usually the fare is only 30 pesos per person, beyond that do not go or find another driver. Better to tell the driver the fare is only 30 pesos to avoid being duped.
The resort where we checked in, in Dahican beach.

There are too many resorts in Dahican beach it's up to you to choose, we decided to check-in to the most expensive resort in Dahican. It was few days before Christmas when we went there; thus there were no much tourists at that time. In fact, we are the only people checked-in the resort. After checking-in, we immediate went to the beach just a  few meters away from our room.

Dahican beach is similar to that of Boracay, the water is very clear and blue, the sand is fine and white. From Dahican beach you can see mountain ranges from afar, there are too many coconut trees along the beach. Dahican beach is not only good for swimming, but as well as for surfing. A medium size of waves come along every now and then a couple of surfers also went there to enjoy surfing on the waves.
The day we arrived in the resort.

Unfortunately, due to the impending super typhoon, we only stayed there for one day and need to head back to Davao City for safety. The next morning we packed up our things and waited for the vehicle to bring us back to the bus terminal. Our stay in Mati was very short, yet we really had a great time at Dahican beach. I would love to go back there soon
