It was birthday of my sister when we decided to go to "Jack Ridge" a popular high-land restaurant in Davao City, Philippines. As i have spent most of my time abroad for the past years, i never had the chance to visit this famous place. Although i can often hear it from the people around, the place is situated on the top of a hill, overlooking the fantastic view of Davao City.
Our home is not too far from the place, i was very excited to go there, anyway considering its my first time to see it. It was almost twilight when we reached there, and the sun is about to set off. The moment we got off the car, i took my camera to take some shots of the place. It was indeed glorious, the view is totally amazing.
I and my family of course, had a lot of picture taken before embarking on the swimming pool. It was weekday when we went there, but i noticed there are still a lot of people going to the place to eat, relax and unwind. The restaurant offers various delicacies with a very reasonable price. But the most amazing experience is being able to see the entire view of the city, the air is fresh and clean.
The restaurant has many amenities aside from offering good food, it has also videoke bar wherein you can sing along with your family and friends, it has boutique to purchase local souvenir stuff, it has rooms to check-in to lodge for a night, and its very clean swimming pool which is among the most popular to local and foreign tourists.
Not only that, the place is also very historic as it has well-preserved the remnants of a Japanese war-plane crashed there during World-War-II. Yes, its true, you can see there a Japanese fighting plane right above the swimming pool on the edge of the cliff.
The airplane has a red huge dot symbolizing the flag of Japan. We could have stayed there longer, unfortunately we came late in the afternoon. So we enjoy swimming on the pool all by ourselves as there were only few swimmers as it was weekday. After plunging, jumping on the pool for an hour, we all got very exhausted. But it was worth it, the experience was memorable and priceless. I would love to go and visit there again.
